MOVING PICTURE FROM CAMERA TO MAC
1) After coming back from a shoot, remove SD card from the camera and put it in the SD card slot on the back of the Mac.
2) An icon for the SD card should pop up on the desktop. Double click it to open. Double click any applicable folders until you have access to the photos from the folder. In the example of the photo 1 class, you would have to click Nikon D300 and then
3) Select every file in the folder and drag it onto the desktop, or into any folder you would like to copy it onto the computer and keep it as organized as you need. Tip: Put the photos into folders by project for easy access.
4,5,6) Now you can easily import these files into adobe Lightroom or photoshop for editing by opening the application, clicking "import" in the bottom left corner of the window and selecting the files you want to edit (Tip: use "uncheck all" or "check all" as a way to only import a few of the photos you want to) ; or alternatively open the images by selecting your desired photos and dragging them over the Lightroom/photoshop icon on the desktop.
7) Now you can look through your photos and click "P" to flag the image. You can sort these preferred images by clicking view >"sort by pick", which puts the flagged images at the front of the catalog.
8) After you know which images you want to edit, you may go to the top right-hand corner of the screen and click "Develop" to be taken to the develop module. Here you will have all the tools you need to perform a basic edit of the image.
